Senior Accounts & Taxation Officer
Location: Karachi, Pakistan

KBAPK, one of Pakistan’s oldest and most respected business houses, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accounts & Taxation Officer to lead our financial reporting, taxation compliance, and statutory requirements across the group. This is a key position that demands strong analytical ability, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of Pakistan’s taxation and regulatory framework.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare complete financial statements along with detailed notes and disclosures.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, corporate regulations, and internal financial controls.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and oversee monthly closing activities.
Taxation (Sales Tax & Income Tax)
- Independently prepare and submit monthly sales tax returns, including item-wise stock reconciliation.
- Handle all matters related to income tax, especially withholding tax calculations, deductions, and deposits.
- Timely prepare and file quarterly and annual withholding tax statements through IRIS.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable SROs related to sales tax and income tax.
- Coordinate with external tax and audit consultants for annual income tax returns, statements, and certifications.
- Prepare responses to FBR notices, including documentation, worksheets, and reconciliations.
Accounts & Banking
- Prepare and maintain bank reconciliation statements for all assigned accounts.
- Assist in managing payables, receivables, and expense tracking where needed.
- Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation.
Documentation & Software
- Maintain proper filing, documentation, and digital record systems
- Work confidently on Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and accounting software.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of Pakistan’s tax laws (sales tax, income tax, withholding tax).
- Deep understanding of SROs, FBR regulations, and IRIS portal operations.
- High-level proficiency in financial reporting and statement preparation.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills — written and verbal.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with auditors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving capability, especially in reconciling FBR notices and tax discrepancies.
Experience & Education
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Accounts, Finance, and Taxation.
- Educational background must be aligned with the role (B.Com, M.Com, MBA Finance, ACCA, CA-Inter, or equivalent).
- Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in manufacturing, trading, or group-company environments.
